Hello,
Here are some pictures from Tass.
picasaweb.google.si/modelarji/2010TerenVTassu
You will see that there are some dry areas, while quite large portion
of the field still has 10-20 cm of water, some areas up to 40-50 cm of
water, not to mention channel along the road with even deeper water.
The grass is uncut, very high, not suitable for F1A. There is an
electrical fence around the farm on the northern side of the area.
Funny thing is that the big channel doesn't have much water. The soil
does not let the water to go deep into it, bud due to high grass the
standing water is in shadow of te grass and does not evaporate much
over the day.
It's hard to decide just upon photos and other people's observations.
The weather forecast for this week suggests that there may be some
showers and/or thunderstorms.
What we saw today is not really good. We don't thinK competitors would
like this. You can not cross practically in any direction in a range
of 500 m without high boots. I don't thing anyone would enjoy
searching for good thermal conditions on such terrain.
We are really sorry to bring you such news, but we think as the
situation looks at the moment - it would not be fair to competitors to
bring them to such terrain.
The flying field. There is grass from 15 - 70 cm high all over. Quite
a big percentage of area is still under water, we estimate that about
50-60% of whole area is still under water, which is on quite big area
at least 10 cm high. on some places even 50cm!!! on lower positions
beside main road there is water maybe even 1m high.
F1A competitors would have had will have very big problems with the line!!!
We think that water will hardly dry till the first day of competition
- it is mostly in the shadow of grass - it will disappear in 2-4 weeks
if no new rain will drop.
So the result is not good. We have to inform you taht NOVOHRAD CUP AND MURA CUP has been cancelled again due to water on the field and very high grass which cannot be cut because of the water.
